I try to avoid ordering on Amazon but our local garden store didn’t have a solar powered fountain and I knew I wanted that for many reasons.
The one I ordered for the bubbler has a solar panel that has a chord so you can serve the panel on the sun even if the bubbler is in shade which in my case it is so that’s pretty cool. That cost $10 more. I’m not sure how long they will last. Right now, it feels worth every penny. Good luck!
Just set up the fountain I sent you the link too and noticing a significant decrease in quality from the fountain that has it’s own solar panel which is this one. POPOSOAP Solar Fountain Pump... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRN455B3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I like this one much better so far. Let me know how your journey goes.
They are amazing. I will confess because I know you appreciate keeping it real that the one I got is made out of foam and the first week in, the wild animals I was hoping to attract with said fountain had a scuffle and kind of ripped the foam to shreds- Amazon replaced it and now I carry in my solar fountain each night. I think if it were higher up and if it hadn’t been floating around and if it wasn’t made of foam, this would not have happened. Keep me posted if you get one. Are you in the PNW too? I think you’ve shared this with me before.
Love this. I have been digging up grass in my backyard all summer so far. I keep looking at it and wondering if it's big enough. It's under the shade of a curly willow that grew way way taller than expected. I planned to put down pavers or bricks and make another patio under the tree. Now I'm going to order a "bubbler." Then I can sit out under the shade and listen to it while I read or just sit and relax. Love your posts Mary.
I’m so glad you love my pockets, and I’m so grateful for your readership. You could do a small bubbler in a ceramic pot. That would be super easy. I have decided I’m going to refresh the water in my larger one, once a week just to be on the safe side as far as mosquitoes go. My plan is to
Just use that water to water the plants, wipe out the tub and put in clean water. I might be over thinking bit I hate mosquitoes. With a smaller bubbler, the water would probably just bubble out and solve this issue. All that aside, the sounds of a bubbler are divine.
What a beautiful transformation of the space and landscape. I often remind myself too that among the many things trees teach us is that to stay grounded we must be able to move with wind and storms. This was such a refreshing and lovely read this morning (better yet, with cats!!), thank you.
I loved your message. I am trying to graciously accept changes as I go through life. It can sure be difficult. Your details and examples of doing so were beautiful.
I am so glad you have a place of peace ans joy in your yard!!
So difficult sometimes. I think you model how people can be lifelong learners and you pursue your passions and strive to create a more beautiful world. I think all of these are windows into weathering change.
What a great idea transforming the sandbox into a bubbler for the birds! It's so hard to let go and accept the new, but you did it with grace, and I'm sure the birds (and cat) appreciate it.
Love the reference to Joseph’s coat- we live that story- and your ability to shift and grow adapting to change is so hard. Picturing myself sitting next to you and your bubbler brings my heart so much joy. It’s lovely, dahling. And so are you.
I agree with @Makenzie, and how you honored both grief and joy through the process. No meaningful journey is all glitter and rainbows. I mean, glitter may look pretty (from far, far away), but it spreads like wildfire and is impossible to get rid of...not my idea of fun anyway.
I think grief and joy are dance partners. I read someone who wrote about them last week as sitting down on a park bench together so much closer than we think. I like that.
Thank you, lovely friend. What strikes me (perhaps the lesson I need to hear today?) is the time you let it all take, the way you let it all unfold. <3.
Yes!! It’s a lesson I’m still learning but leaving that little space empty and not immediately rushing to fix it or fill it was a huge symbolic step for me.
What a beautiful post with so many layers Mary! The fountain is lovely (and the picture with Joy cat is charming). My little boy turns 18 next week and I am trying hard not to dig my heels into the earth to stop change. Your words come at a good moment.
This is beautiful, and now I want a fountain in my birdbath. Today is the day I order one I've been thinking about for a year.
That makes me so happy. I can’t wait to see how it works out. Here’s a link to the one I ordered for our bird bath. AISITIN 3.5W DIY Solar Fountain... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PZWWRHJ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Beautiful and heartfelt. Thank you for this lovely story.
Thanks for reading. I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
Now you have me looking at solar powered fountains! And how did I miss that you live in the PNW? 🥂

here's to the joy that bubbles up when we least expect it!
What a beautiful project, and what a magical sound! Thanks for sharing your and Mateo's story with us.
Thanks for reading and for the kind words.

I had already ordered the one on my wishlist. I hope it works out!
Me too! Can’t wait to see a photo.

Thanks so much for reading and restacking Rachel. I am so glad you enjoyed it, and I love the idea of you reading it over tea.

This is a beautiful post. Loving ourselves well and telling others about it is important work.
I love that reframe. You are so wise my friend.

Of course you know that book. I am sitting here right now thinking of you with a full grateful heart. I love you dahling.

So true. You can’t fully experience one without the other.
Thank you, Mary. This is very well written. Good work.
Thank you. That means much.

Also that sweet kitty having a luscious drink at the end.
Cutest cat ever. I should just do a thread with pics of her. It might hurt my ego as it would probably be my most popular post.
