If you’re leaving this planet and its denizens in a bit better shape than you found it, you have led a successful, satisfying life. P.S. there’s no rush to leave!

Precious words, Mary, and you are right: Nothing could be more pressing than appreciating what you have. 🌎

The juxtaposition of the pic of the spring flowers and the loveliness that is your poem is delicious. I think we can appreciate and be grateful, recognizing our privilege but not moving into feeling bad about it. We have what we have, but chances are we worked for at least most of it, right? Guilt does not increase appreciation, I think. Thank you for sharing.

Mary - it was nice to meet you in James’ session. I have been thinking recently about how extraordinary my life seems at the moment and wondering, “do I deserve this?”, “have I felt this way before?” and “is this directly related to slowing down and observing more or something else I cannot name yet”. All these questions seem relevant to your questions. I know I am blessed, privileged, and grateful—all of it. And I want to go deeper.

I love that wondering and all your questions and I loved seeing the joy on your face yesterday in the retreat, which was so good. Thank you for reading my poem and sharing some of your joy and insight here. 🌼
