The gathering was perfect! Your family and friends are lovely, the food delicious (give me the caterer’s info and cookie recipe, please!), the house beautiful and cozy, and Anna looked happy. Your Zen Butt Goodness came through with flying colors. ❤️
So glad you were there. I’m so glad for our friendship and that this friendship has extended to Anna. Happy to share the cookie recipe, and the caterer and maybe even some leftover food if you are game. I may have ordered a wee bit too much. 😂
This is so relatable, Mary but I wanted to say first and foremost - it's exciting to learn that your journey with Mateo continues! As for the swollen lip, it reminded me of the time I roasted chestnuts for the first and only time. I neglected to pierce the skins and they began to explode all over the oven. I pulled them out and let them sit for all of a minute. Then, with an astonishing lack of logical thinking, I grabbed and bit into one, whereupon the thing exploded in my face.
The upshot: my then four-year-old son wondered why I had my face in the sink running cold water all over it, there are never enough ice cubes for situations like this, and I had to go cover a school board meeting for the local paper -- because that was, after all my job, and they stopped the meeting to ask if I needed medical attention and why was I crying? My boss had to step in, finish the meeting and I had to look like Donald Duck with herpes lips for the rest of the week.
I totally get the Wayfair binge and hope your nest surrounds you with comfort in the coming months as your eldest gets ready to fly free.
Such a lovely comment. Thanks so much Betsy. Having Mateo here is such a gift. Thanks for sharing your story! Who knew roasting chestnuts was so involved?
Thank you, I never say no to an honest laughter. And, isn't it amazing when we discover that Perfection is a tyrant that we can do just fine without. (I have converted my own Perfectionist to Joy-ist). You had your blisters/herpes. I have a small pimple on my 87-yer old wrinkled face. And yet, the world did not come to an end!
I love the idea of Zen Butt Goodness!!
I’m so glad it makes sense to others.
Hilarious! And real!! Hope you enjoy your weekend!!
Thanks Dottie! 🥰
I adore you, whether or not you have herpes. 🙂 I’m so glad you got to celebrate Anna and feel good in your space!
